Amos Kipruto is the winner of this year’s edition of the London Marathon, held on Sunday, October 02, 2022, in the United Kingdom (UK).

The 30-year-old Kenyan marathoner finished first against Ethiopia’s Leul Gebresilase and Belgium’s Bashir Abdi, in a time of 2:04:40.

In the women category, Ethiopia’s Yalemzerf Yehualaw reigned supreme, winning the race in a time of 2:17:25.

She edged out the defending champion, Kenya’s Joyciline Jepkosgei.

Yehualaw’s compatriot Alemu Megertu came third.

Last week, Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge set a new record at the Berlin marathon.

He set a time of 2:01:09 to lower his previous record of 2:01:39 set during the Berlin marathon in 2018.
