Thomas Tuchel has been sacked from the position of Chelsea Football Club head coach.

He pays the price for Chelsea’s poor start to the 2022/2023 season.

The Club confirmed in a statement that the Germany tactician had been sacked, hours after the Blues went downb1-0 against Croatia side Dinamo Zagreb, in one of the 2022/2023 Champions League first group matches, played on Tuesday night.

“Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with Head Coach Thomas Tuchel,” reads the club statement.

The Club said he will have a rightful place in history, after winning multiple titles.

“On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea’s history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.”

Chelsea’s coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of upcoming matches, as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.

The Club has picked up 10 points from six Premier League games so far this season.

The Blues have lost to Southampton, Leeds and Zagreb so far this season, as well as being held at home by Tottenham.

Chelsea is owned by a new ownership group led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

The Blues’ next premier league match is a London derby against Fulham, on September 10.

Tuchel’s football management journey has seen him manage Mainze 05 and Borrussia Dortmund in the Germany top flight, before a period with PSG in France.
