DP Gachagua’s tailor should be bestowed with Head of State Commendation – MP Didmus Barasa
By Joshua Cheloti
Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa has showered praises on Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s tailor.
Barasa in a tweet says the tailor deserves to be on the next list of Kenyans to be bestowed with a Head of State Commendation (HSC).
According to the vocal legislator, the tailor has been able to transform the second in command’s look to that similar to a 35-year-old Christian and a truthful Mau Mau.
“In my honest opinion our Deputy President @rigathi tailor should make it to the list of Kenyans to be bestowed with a Head of State Commendation HSC,” the UDA MP posted on his Twitter handle.
‘Nowadays Kenyas second in command, looks exactly like a 35 year old Christian and truthful MAU MAU son….Wapi makofi ya tailor ya RIGGY G,” he added.
During the just concluded General Election, the DP was the subject of ridicule from Kenyan netizens, most of who were not impressed with the way he was dressing.
Some Kenyans went further to create memes, blaming the tailor for doing injustice to Gachagua.
They had even suggested that he changes his tailor.
But in an interview on his inauguration day, the DP admitted that he had not been paying attention to his looks.
“We did not have time to go and buy new clothes to cope with the extra weight. We were targeted …the first instinct was to stay safe. I needed to be alive,” Gachagua told journalists during an early morning gym session.
“People have raised questions about how I dress, but I want to tell them that I had no luxury to think about dressing. I was caring about my life, and staying safe. But now that it is all over, in another three months, people will like what they see,” he added.
He said he was busy fighting to ensure he is safe, and that he did not have time to buy new clothes or stay fit.
He however promised Kenyans that within three months, he would be a transformed man – when it comes to his fashion taste.
True to his words, DP Gachagua has been showing up in public events looking sharp – unlike during the campaigns where the majority of his photos would attract criticisms from social media fashionistas.
