Former Mukurweini Member of Parliament Kabando wa Kabando has joined a list of politicians that have questioned the authenticity of data from an alleged IEBC whistleblower.

The whistleblower, whose data is being used by the opposition to discredit the government, had claimed former Prime Minister Raila Odinga won the August 9 poll.

In the data, he also claims the Azimio candidate beat President William Ruto in a majority of Mount Kenya counties.

But according to Kabando who unsuccessfully vied for the Nyeri Senate seat in the August 9 poll, it is false to claim Raila beat Ruto in the county.

He notes that he lost the senate race largely because he was in Azimio, and that it is a lie to suggest Kenya Kwanza had no support in Nyeri.

“Our biggest curse is greed that breeds corruption, plus politics of chicanery. 2022, I vigorously campaigned and voted for Raila Odinga. I also vied for Senator @narckenya but lost largely for being in Azimio. For IEBC “whistleblower” to claim Baba defeated Ruto in Nyeri is a lie,’ Kabando wa Kabado said in part of a tweet posted on January 30, 2023.

However, despite questioning the ‘Whistleblowers’ data, the former MP insists he continues to support the Azimio leadership.

He has however asked the opposition coalition to admit delusions over their victory.

“I’ll steadfastly support my party leader @MarthaKarua and opposition leader @RailaOdinga in zealous oversight of Ruto’s regime. But I vehemently reject the politics of deception. Azimio ‘alumni’ must admit delusions of the so-called deepstate system delivering victory for #Baba,” noted the former MP.

The IEBC whistleblower data claims Raila garnered over 8.1 million votes against Ruto’s 5.9 million votes to win the presidential election.

Politicians allied to the Kenya Kwanza government have however dismissed the data, questioning why it was never presented in court during a petition to challenge Ruto’s win.

The Head of State also termed the data impossible to believe.

“Wajinga waliisha Kenya. There is simply no possibility that Raila beat Ruto in Uasin Gishu, Nyeri, Tharaka Nithi and Meru. Yet that what the so-called whistleblower claims,” Ruto tweeted on Sunday night.
