Lawyer Silas Jakakimba Quits ODM

Raila’s long-term aide Silas Jakakimba has cut ties with the ODM party, completely.
In a letter to the registrar of political parties dated 17th March 2023, renowned city lawyer Silas Jakakimba has resigned from the ODM party as a life member.
”This is to inform your office that I have resigned, effective immediately as a (Life) Member of the ODM party of Kenya, being membership number 00230..Kindly accept this decision ,by striking out my name from the party’s official Membership Register,” the letter stated.
The move comes four days after his fallout with Odinga’s daughter Winnie Odinga who allegedly used abusive words against the lawyer.
The lawyer also resigned as an advisor to the Raila Odinga secretariat with immediate effect thanking Raila for his gratitude and mentorship.
”I take this opportunity to inform that I have taken the liberty to formally take time off the advisory Role at the Raila Odinga Secretariat effective immediately,” Jakaimba stated in a separate letter to Odinga.
The Lawyer also thanked Odinga for his mentorship and wished him well.
”With so much Gratitude and Honor, Jakom , Receive the assurances of my Highest Respect and Consideration and , prayers for your continued Good Health and a Long Happy Life,”
Jakakimba was recently spotted with ICT cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo sparking speculations on whether he has decided to decamp to Kenya Kwanza.
Recently, we have seen former ODM members, including Evans Kidero, ditching the party and pledging to support the Kenya Kwanza government.
