Stephen Maloba is dead.
Until his death on Saturday, April 01, 2023, Maloba was serving as the Kisa East Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Khiswero, Kakamega County.
Kakamega County Deputy Governor Ayub Angatia Savula was the first leader to break the news of Maloba’s death.
He spoke during a thanks giving service by 40 Churches organized Farouk Kibet, President William Ruto’s aide, and Malava MP Malulu Injendi in Malava Constituency, Kakamega County.
“We would like to stay here longer, but we can’t. Apologies for that. An MCA has just passed away in Khwisero Constituency,” said Savula.
He added that the MCA elected on the KANU party ticket in 2022 was stabbed after a confrontation during a meeting.
Savula said confrontation ensued between the MCA’s camp and that of the area MP.
“He was stabbed after a confrontation ensued between two camps, his and that of an MP.”
Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale who was initially in a good mood said the news of the MCA’s death had dampened his spirit.
“I was in a good mood, but that news ruined it. The young man they killed was in my house for breakfast the other day. He was to vie on UDA, but he joined KANU and won. They have killed him. I am going to console them and not to cause more chaos,” said the Senator.
On his part, Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Arap Mandago said police should immediately arrest goons who had killed the MCA.
