MP Salasya excited after flying in cockpit

They say there is always a first time for everybody in anything.

Well, this weekend looks like it was the first time for Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya to fly while seated in the cockpit.

Ordinarily, a cockpit, usually near the front of an aircraft is where a pilot controls it.

The pilot can in special circumstances allow a passenger to fly with him in this area as was the case with the youthful legislator.

And after his first time experience in the cockpit, Salasya who was over the moon took to his social media pages to share with his followers.

Sharing a brief video while in the aircraft, the legislator admitted that it was a great honour to finally see how it is controlled.

“I used to just see an aeroplane fly. I never knew how it was controlled but today I have sat here (at the cockpit) and I thank pilots for giving me such an honour,” MP Salasya said.

He noted that it was God’s will that he can finally share a cockpit with a pilot, taking the opportunity to also thank the electorate for supporting his parliamentary bid – which has enabled him to get access to some of the privileges he only dreamt of.

“It is not by my will but God’s will that I have finally sat with pilots. To my people, thank you so much for honouring me to sit at this place where I have never thought I would sit,” he added.

The MP was all smiles as he shared the short video of him being in the cockpit of the Skyward express plane.

In a post accompanying the video, Salasya further called for more planes to be added to the Kakamega, Busia, Vihiga and Bungoma routes.

Skyward Express has daily flights to Kakamega Airstrip from Wilson Airport.

“Thank you people of kakamega busia vihiga and bungoma for owning @SkywardExpress and accepting to use it …..please add more planes it was nice feelings in the cockpit with the crew. Kenyans loves me so much across the country. THANK YOU CAPTAINS of skyward you good pple,” the MP said.

Salasya is one of the youthful Members of Parliament in the 13th Parliament.

He has gained a social media following through his regular humorous posts and videos that have earned him criticisms and praises in almost the same measure.
