President Ruto gets female Aide-De-Camp

By Peter Ochieng

President William Samoei Ruto has a female Aide-De-Camp (ADC) in the making of Colonel Fabian Lengusuranga.

Lengusuranga is from the Kenya Army.

She takes over from Stelu Lekolool who has been serving as the Head of State since he was sworn-in, on September 13, 2022.

Lekolool who also served former President Uhuru Kenyatta was promoted to Brigadier and deployed to the Department of Defence headquarters.

He was from the Kenya Navy.

The new ADC was first seen with the President on Tuesday, at the burial ceremony of Jack Reriani Gachagua in Mathira, Nyeri County.

The late is Deputy President (DP) Geoffrey Rigathi Gachagua’s elder brother.

Fabian Lengusuranga becomes the second female Aide-De-Camp after Uhuru Kenyatta in 2018, appointed Lieutenant Colonel Rachel Nduta Kamui as an assistant ADC.

An ADC serves as a symbol of authority and dignity for the Presidency, assisting on matters of security and protocol among others.

He/she is mostly highly-trained, senior military officer, required to be part of the president’s itinerary at all times.
