Telecommunications giant Safaricom will at the end of this August be shutting down one of its main retail centres in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi.

In a customer notice shared on its verified Facebook page on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, the company said the Two Rivers Mall Retail Centre will not be operational starting September 2022.

Safaricom says shut down of the centre is part of its bid to streamline operations.

“As we continue to streamline our business operations to better meet customers’ needs, we wish to inform all our customers of the closure of our Two Rivers Mall Retail Centre with effect from 31st August 2022 at the close of business,” read part of the notice.

And with the impending closure of the retail centre, Safaricom is advising its customers in the area that they will continue accessing all their services from the Village Market Retail Centre or nearby care outlets.

The telecommunications giant also said its self-service channels will continue to remain available to all customers.

Currently, the company that is rated as one of the leading telecommunications companies in Africa with over 19 million subscribers have at least 60 retail shops spread across the country.

Under the retail shops, Safaricom provides its customers, businesses and public sector clients among others mobile and fixed voice as well as data services on a variety of platforms.

To complement the shops, Safaricom has also opened over 125 customer care desks across the six regions.
