Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has sent a warm Message to his adopted son Satrine Osinya on his 10th birthday.

Sonko who adopted Osinya and his brother posted the emotional message on his social media accounts, recounting baby Osinya journey since he adopted him.

Sonko sent a happy birthday wishes to Osinya as he turns 10 on May 25 “As you turn 10 today, I want to wish you a happy birthday baby Satrine Osinya. Remember I love you so much and I want the best for you as you grow older.” He shared

In his statement, the former Nairobi governor further said that Osinya joined them as an angel and that despite what he went through in the year 2014 when he was two years old, when he also lost his mother to a terror attack, he has remained a blessing to his (Sonko) family.

“You came into our family 8 years ago as an angel and a blessing and since then, we felt that our family had become complete. You’re a source of happiness to us and we always feel blessed and lucky having you around healthy and happy despite what happened to you on the 22nd of March-2014 when you lost your lovely mum to a terror attack and escaped with a life-threatening injury,” Sonko stated.

Osinya was a victim of a terrorist shooting incident that marred a church in Likoni Constituency, Mombasa County in 2014 where he was shot and left with a bullet in the head. His mother was shot dead and died on the spot.

Sonko said that the lives of the two are miraculous considering that they were saved from a hail of bullets which were being sprayed by the terrorists inside the church in Likoni Constituency, Mombasa County.

“We thank God for healing and protecting you and your elder brother who rescued you from a hail of bullets which were being sprayed by the terrorists inside the church” Sonko recounted

In March 2014, Osinya then 2-years-old survived the attack with a bullet lodged in his head when gunmen attacked a church in Likoni, Mombasa, spraying bullets on worshipers. The bullet that killed his mother penetrated the baby’s skull. He had to undergo operation for the bullet to be removed from his skull.
