Two Nakuru men undress and climb tree as they preach

By McCreadie Andias,
Two men caused a bizarre scene at Nakuru Central police station on Friday morning after they undressed, climbed a tree just outside the station, and started preaching.
The two men had on Thursday night, attempted to climb the tree but were driven away by police officers manning the station, only to return at the same station undressed and climbed the tree attracting public attention.
According to local residents, the duo returned on Friday morning at around 6am and climbed the tree staying in the situation for about 11 hours.
Despite several attempts of the officers to appeal the men to descend from the tree, the men declined compelling the officers to cordon the area.
The two men later climbed down the tree at around 12:30 PM but went and sat in a secluded corner within the station.
According to Nakuru East Sub County Police commander Martin Masika, the police did not want to force the two men into climbing down the tree because it would have caused a disaster, Masika said the men did not disclose the reason behind their strange actions.
”They have not disclosed why they decided to do that. We are interrogating them to understand what motivated them to commit the act. They caused drama outside the police station and pulled a huge crowd there. It was a funny situation,” Masika said.
”We didn’t want to go there and scare them. We feared they would fall down and cause a disaster,” added Masika.
