The Azimio political coalition youth leader in Nyamira has declared that Nyamira residents will continue with demonstrations as directed by their leader, former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga.

“The high cost of living is unbearable. Prices of basic commodities like flour, cooking oil, fuel amongst other basic commodities are unaffordable and we demand the prices of these commodities be reduced so that the common mwananchi can afford to put at a least a meal on his table. Joblessness amongst the youth and harassment of innocent leaders who served in the previous leadership, opening of the IEBC server to ascertain who was the true winner of last year’s general elections are the main issues we agitate they be addressed,” listed Marube.
He however confirmed that the demonstrations would be peaceful without destruction of people’s property or harming any person because it is unlawful.
“The police have not harassed us in any way and we shall continue with our demonstrations every Monday and Thursday until the demands of Azimio are met by our esteemed President William Ruto,” he said.
He appealed to all Azimio supporters to come in large numbers during the peaceful demonstrations in the coming weeks so that their message is sent out loud and clear but in a peaceful manner.
