28 Chavakali Boys Accident Survivors discharged from Hospital

At least 28 Chavakali Boys high school students who survived a grisly road accident Monday night that occurred along Kisumu-Kakamega highway were discharged today early morning 

According to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital(JOOTRH) communication office, one student died on the spot,2 were transferred to the nearest Avenue Hospital out of the 31 students they received. Most of the survivors were treated with minor injuries and given analgesics(painkillers).

According to Allan Mwangi, the Nyanza Regional Traffic Officer, the accident occurred at around 10:30 PM near Mamboleo roundabout.

“The Easy Coach bus driver lost control, hit the railroad and caused the bus to overturn near the roundabout. It was headed to Nairobi from Mbale town,” Mwangi explained in an interview with KNA at his office.

The traffic boss informed them that the driver was not available at the accident scene and they are working closely with the bus company to trace his whereabouts.

In a press release issued by the Easy Coach management earlier today, they expressed their heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.

They clarified that they were working closely with the authorities to investigate the cause of the accident.
