A man has been arraigned at Loitoktok law court for allegedly sodomizing a nine-year-old boy.
Julius Mwanza who appeared before Resident Magistrate Nelson Njuguna allegedly committed the offence in his house at Sultan Hamud, Poka location, Mashuuru sub county on December 21, 2023.
The boy narrated to the court how on the material day at around 6.00pm he had gone to the accused house to watch movies however Mwanza walked out leaving him with another man he had hosted.
The man took a handkerchief and blocked the minor’s mouth before forcing him on a bed where he sodomized him.
Afterwards, he warned the minor against reporting the matter or else would kill him before leaving.
When Mwanza came back, he offered sweets to the boy to buy his silence before he left for home where he remained silence until January 1, 2024 when he narrated the ordeal to his mother, Patricia Kitaa after she enquired about blood stains on the back of his sweater.
Kitaa told the court that the accused was a tenant in her premises and her son used to visit him and had noticed blood stains on her son’s sweater while she was washing clothes.
Upon questioning, the boy revealed that he was sodomized by a stranger in the accused’s house where he had gone to watch movies.
Kitaa approached Mwanza who promised to identify the man involved which he never did. She reported the matter at Masimba police station, leading to the arrest of the accused while the boy was taken to Sultan Hamud hospital for medical examination.
In court the accused denied the allegations and the court set April 17, 2024 for defense hearing.
