Eshilongo Primary School learners were all smiles on Wednesday when they received a one-hectare piece of land meant for expansion of the institution from Khwisero Member of Parliament (MP) Christopher Aseka.
“As part of my commitment to education and community development, I handed over one hectare of land to the school,” said Aseka.
The MP, while engaging the opinion leaders from Kisa East Ward, said he will strategize on prioritizing development initiatives and pinpointing crucial areas for progress.
Aseka said the land was acquired through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He said the purchased piece of land will pave way for additional infrastructure and facilities allowing the school to enroll more students.
“The expansion will welcome more students and enrich their learning experience. This is a good step towards a conducive environment for studying,” he said.
The MP reiterated that he will champion the resident’s priorities at the legislative level and facilitate development projects in the region.
Additionally, he committed to construct two more classrooms in the school in the next financial year thus furthering his commitment to quality education.
The move is aimed at strengthening the institution’s capacity to enroll more pupils as the administration rolls out a plan to increase uptake of its learners annually.
