A 65-year-old man who defiled a secondary school girl appeared in a Makindu court to answer to six charges.
The accused Peter Mutuku was charged with defilement, indecent assault, impregnating a minor, buying medicine to use to abort, putting the girl under medication to abort and killing the unborn baby.
Mutuku who appeared before Makindu Principal Magistrate (PM) Evans Mbicha on Monday was denied a bond and was remanded up to 26th March 2024 when the case will be mentioned.
Prosecutor Melorene Njoki told the court that the accused may be harmed by members of the public and he may interfere with the witnesses or he may go on the run again if released on bond.
The accused was the chairman of the girls’ school BOM in Kibwezi East Subcounty and has been on the run since January 19th this year when his heinous acts were discovered. He was arrested on Saturday night at Taasia in Nairobi where he was hiding.
He had offered the girl a place to stay since her home was very far from the school and took advantage of his hospitality to abuse the minor sexually.
