Bodaboda operators lament over increased motorbike theft

A group of Bodaboda operators in Kimana trading centre, Loitoktok Sub County, stormed Kimana Police Station with a body of their colleague, expressing concern over the rampant theft of motorbikes.

The group led by their chairman, Christoper Main lamented the increase of the theft and killings blaming the security apparatus for not taking necessary steps to apprehend the culprits.

He said the latest incident happened early this week when one of their colleagues was ambushed and murdered and his motorbike taken and up to date no person has been arrested.

Furthermore, he pointed out the theft has been carried out by known culprits however the security officers are reluctant to take steps to intervene.

Police officers from Kimana Police Station who requested for anonymity told the boda boda operators that already two suspects connected with the killing and theft have been arrested and investigation is ongoing.

Later on, the boda boda operators later ferried the body of the deceased for burial at his home in Kimana.
