Breaking: Celebrated local reggae queen Njambi Koikai succumbs to long battle with cancer

Media personality Njambi Koikai has passed on following a long battle with Endometriosis.

The celebrated reggae show MC was pronounced dead on Monday morning at around 9AM while receiving emergency treatment at the Intensive care Unit at the Nairobi Hospital where she had been admitted for months.

Earlier this week, the reggae queen who was known as Fyah Mummah, appealed for blood donations amidst a deteriorating condition.

“Hi fam, I’m currently admitted at the Pioneer Ward Nairobi hospital and I kindly need Blood O positive. Kindly asking for blood donors for Mary Njambi Koikai,” she wrote on Instagram stories

In 2019, Njambi came out to dismiss death rumours and assured her fans that she was still alive and strong following speculations that she had passed away.

She was the in Atlanta undergoing treatment for stage IV Thoracic Endometriosis since she broke the news of her condition a while back.

Njambi once revealed that she endured painful periods for 18 years and suffered a lung collapse during her menstrual cycle which prompted her to travel to Atlanta for full diagnosis following many misdiagnosis.

Njambi contested for the Dagoretti South Parliamentary seat in the 2022 elections as an Independent candidate where she conceded to MP John Kiarie.

She was mourned by many online fans who said she was the source of their entertainment.

Our warrior is gone.” Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba tweeted.

You had a big family, just a big one… go well my friend.” ODM press secretary Philp Etale tweeted.

On May 20, Jahmby shared a sincere call of help to a few Kenyan leaders including President Ruto when he made his state visit to the US to invest in health.
