After months of speculation and anticipation, Kylian Mbappe (25) has finally been announced as a Real Madrid player on Monday, signing a 5 year long-term contract as a free agent with the LaLiga club.
The France forward had announced his decision to leave his former employers Paris Saint-Germain weeks ago once his contract ran up but his long-rumoured move to the LaLiga and Champions League title holders was yet to be made official.
Mbappe spent seven seasons at PSG after moving from Monaco in 2018 for a massive transfer fee worth €180 million. He scored 162 Ligue 1 goals for the capital club and won six league titles.
He joins a Real Madrid side that has not only just won the league and Champions League double but also boasts some of the most brilliant talent in the world. Mbappe is set to join the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham in a fearsome attack in Madrid.
“Real Madrid CF and Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons,” the club said in a statement.
