Manchester united have reached a new agreement to retain Eric Ten Hag as the clubs manager following the pre-season preview.
Eric Ten Hag was under onslaught to be fired after finishing eighth on the Premier league campaign despite winning the FA Cup in victory against Manchester city. However, United have now abandoned their search for a new manager.
Sources have disclosed that Ten Hag’s case was strengthened by the club’s shock FA Cup Final victory over rivals City which earned them a qualification to next seasons Europa League.
Potential replacements, including Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and Thomas Frank were sounded out by United officials, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS leading the process.
However, Tuchel distanced himself from the role after meeting Ratcliffe in Monaco for talks last week.
The 54 year old is expected to be offered a new contract with the club’s board putting their trust on him to revive the club back to its former glory.
Meanwhile, Omar Berrada is due to arrive from Manchester City as chief executive on July 13. Jason Wilcox has already joined as technical director while talks are ongoing to bring Dan Ashworth to Old Trafford from Newcastle as sporting director.
