JKIA to experience heavy traffic as tower Avenue damaged by floods

Vehicles going into and out of JKIA will have to use the main entrance until further notice following heavy rains resulting in flooding at the Tower Avenue underpass last night.

The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) in a press statement said that the area has been cordoned off but the Airports security to ensure safety of passagers and staff but flight operations will be unaffected.

Furthermore, access to all terminals remains available. However, due to the situation, traffic is expected to be heavier than usual.

“We advise all vehicles to use the main entrance to access and exit the airport until further notice.” KAA noted.

JKIA has recently been under the spotlight over its leaking roofs with fingers pointed to Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen for failing to initiate repairs and installing terminal shades.
