Kabondo Kasipul MP urges school Managements to develop strategic plans

Kabondo Kasipul MP Eve Obara has called on school managements in her constituency to develop their strategic plans.

The MP said the strategic plan developed must be shared to the education stakeholders who she urged to work together for the benefit of children.

Dr Obara was speaking Thursday during the launch of Kasipul constituency 2023-2027 strategic plan in an annual consultative meeting with the theme ‘reimagining our future together: toward a new social contract for education’.

The MP said in the plan, which came after the end of the 2017 -2022 strategic plan, they have put priority projects that were arrived at through public participation.

“We have our plan developed, and you can find copies to see what we have factored in are the same issues raised through public participation and during validation process,” Dr Obara said.

She pointed out that now that the constituency has a roadmap to education development and prosperity each school must develop an individual strategic plan.

Kennedy Gekara, the Rachuonyo East sub county education director lauded the MPs initiative of partnering with the ministry of education so that they can improve academic performance in schools.

“Most of the schools need improvement in terms of infrastructures,” he said.

He thanked the MP for her effort in developing schools saying as per the reports on schools development almost a half of the schools in the sub county have been refurbished by the MP through the national constituency development fund (NG-CDF)The director said the ministry of education is also playing its part and that he was happy for the launch of the strategic plan for education in the sub county with good programmes planned for the years 2023-2027.

“Many programmes are going to be implemented including developing our schools infrastructures such as the building of classrooms, laboratories, and staffing of the schools,” the director said.

The meeting brought together education stakeholders, secondary school principals, primary school heads, chiefs among others.
