Kajiado Marginalized groups benefit from Ksh. 19 million worth of Equipment from NGAAF

Over 72 groups of Marginalized community in Kajiado County including women, youths and Person’s with Disability have benefited from a consignment of business equipment courtesy of the National Government Affirmative action Fund.

During the empowerment drive’s lunch led by First Lady Rachel Ruto, Ksh. 19 million worth of Equipment including posho mills, carwash equipment, sewing machines, tanks, catering equipment, umbrellas, JSS uniforms, and wheelchairs for PLWDs were distributed to empower the residents through socioeconomic welfare.

The event was attended by other leaders including CS Hon. Aisha Jumwa Katana
Kajiado women rep Hon. Leah Sankaire, Hon. Betty Maina, County MP, Muranga Hon. Dorice Donya Aburi, County Member of Parliament, Kisii County, NGAAF Chairperson Hon.Rachel Musyoki and NGAAF CEO Mr.Roy Sasaka.

CS Jumwa urged legislators to entrench budgetary allocations to the National Government Affirmative Action Fund – NGAAF as a percentage of the national budget a fund she terms critical to grassroots development,especially for women, youth, and people with disabilities.

First Lady Rachel Ruto noted that the initiative proves the government’s commitment to support grassroot projects.

“Today’s handover of Kshs 19 million worth of equipment at the Maasai Technical Training Institute in Kajiado County through the National Government Affirmative Action Plan (NGAAF) is a testament to the Government’s commitment to empowering Wananchi for a brighter future” She said.
