The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) board chairperson Winfrida Ngumi has landed a prestigious nomination.

KeNHA in a statement on Monday said Ngumi was recently nominated for the East Africa Women Excellence Awards.

The nomination was after public voting.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority is pleased to announce the nomination of the Authority Board Chairman, Ms. Winfrida Ngumi, for the East Africa Women of Excellence Awards,” the agency said in part of the statement.

“Ms. Ngumi was nominated in the category of Real Estate Trailblazer of the Year through public voting,” it added.

The East Africa Women of Excellence Awards celebrates women who have excelled in the Real Estate and Property development sector.

It also recognizes women who have shown leadership and innovation in their contribution to the growth of the sector.

“Our objective is to recognize and award African women and women of African Descent for their outstanding contribution to the struggle for freedom,” the awards website reads in part.

Another round of voting has been opened.

The nominees will be voted for by the public for the next two months before the final winner is unveiled.

Voting for the nominees is done online through the East Africa Women of Excellence Awards website.

Ngumi was appointed chairperson of KENHA in 2022.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is an autonomous road agency. Its responsibility is for the management, development, rehabilitation, and maintenance of Class S, A and B roads.
