Kenyans on X have expressed mixed reactions following a recent meeting between controversial preacher Victor Kanyari and Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezekiel Mutua.
Mutua on Friday, May 24, 2024, posted on X, formerly Twitter, a photo while with Kanyari.
In the photo, the MCSK boss sought comments from netizens on what he should tell the preacher.
He noted that he was meeting the ‘310’ pastor for a mentorship program.
“I am here with Pastor Kanyari. We have just started the mentorship class. Mnataka nimwambie aje? Mutua asked.
Kanayi has in recent weeks been making waves following his TikTok appearance.
Some Kenyans have been against his TikTok stunts and most of those who replied to the post asked that he quit the popular social media platform.
Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans on X compiled by Nairobi Review;
Nkirote Murungi: He should stop misleading the young generation on TikTok
Omwamba: Kanyari should be stopped and banned from Tiktok
Collins Ayub: Get saved and do the right thing.
The Cane Slinger: He should lead by example in matters of ministry.Tiktok seems to mess him up
Super Metro: Awache kuwa content creator aendelee na injili
Cate: Mwambie ajiheshimu sana, Hii miaka yake haifai kuwa TikTok na kuongea mambo chafu na yeye ni baba ya mtu
The meeting between Kanyari and the MCSK boss, once nicknamed ‘Deputy Jesus’ during his tenure as the KFCB boss comes at a time when Kenyans have expressed concerns over the preacher’s activities on TikTok.
Some argue he was going overboard with indecent undertones in his content.
But the controversial preacher recently defended her actions.
“All I have said has been said. I am sure even some pastors watch worse content. What I am doing is just agreeing to go down to the level of these filthy content creators to try and understand what they are going through. I am spreading the word of God and winning even more souls,” Kanyari told Nairobi News.
