Prominent lawyer Donald Kipkorir has asked President William Ruto to fire Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
Kipkorir accused the CS of making tribal appointments.
In a post on his verified X handle, the Senior Counsel also asked the Ethics and Anti Corruption (EACC) to arrest and charge the CS.
“State Officers in Kenya have no shame bec there is no sanction. Education Minister Ezekiel Machogu wakes up on a Friday morning & decides to appoint Kisii only to head each Public University,” Kipkorir said in part of the post.
“President William Ruto must fire Machogu & @EACCKenya must arrest him. INSANITY!” he hadded.
The lawyer was making reference to the appointment the Education Cabinet Secretary announced on Friday.
In a gazette notice shared by Donald Kipkorir, Machogu appointed several new council members to various public universities.
They include Multimedia University, University of Kabianga, South Eastern Kenya University and Kirinyaga University.
He appointed Sr Angelica Obaga to be a council member of the Multimedia University, Edna Nyaboke, Peter Gathirwa and Tabitha Nyandiek to members of the council of University of Kabianga and Prof Chrispus Kiamba chairperson of the council of South Eastern Kenya University alongside two other members.
The CS also appointed Ben Momanyi a member of council of Kirinyaga University for three years.
In addition, the CS appointed Laurence Okello and Vincent Moseti to be members of the Commission for University Education (CUE).
All the appointments are for three years.
