List of Huduma centres operating on extended working hours ahead of KRA tax returns filing dateline

The Kenya Revenue Authority has asked Kenyans to take advantage of the extended working hours for some Huduma Centres to file their tax returns.

KRA in an update on their social media pages listed at least 18 Huduma Centres operating on extended people.

The centres operate for 12 hours from 7 am to 7pm on weekdays unlike others that operate between 8am and 5pm on weekdays and remain closed on weekends.

The Huduma Centres operating on extended period are Nairobi GPO, Kibra, Makadara, Eastleigh and City Square in Nairobi as well as Kisumu, Kakamega and Kisii.

Others are Kitale, Eldoret, Nakuru, Laikipia, Kericho and Mombasa.Meru, Embu, Nyeri and Kiambu Huduma Centres are also operating on extended period.

In addition, KRA has said all their service centres also operate on extended working hours as well as on Saturdays from 9 am to 1pm.

“Our Service Centres, select Huduma Centres, and Contact Center are now open longer to accommodate your filing needs and help you beat the 30th June deadline with ease,” the taxman said.

All Kenyans who have KRA pins are required to file their annual income tax before the end of a financial year.

The penalty for late filing for individuals is 5 per cent of the tax due or Ksh. 2000 whichever is higher

Currently, there are over 7 million Kenyans with KRA pins.
