A Loitoktok law court has found that a man, who locked up a 12-year-old girl in his house for three days and defiled her, has a case to answer.
The accused Charles Mutuku Kyui who appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu allegedly defiled the girl between June 5 and June 8, 2023 at Isinet area, Loitoktok Sub County.
According to the complainant, on June 5, at around 7.30pm she was returning home after spending the day away from home after she absconded from school without the knowledge of her guardian. While along the way she met Mutuku who grabbed her and dragged her to his house and closed the door.
The accused warned her against raising alarm and held a knife against her before defiling her.
She told the court how the accused tied her up and locked her in his house and continued to defile her for two more days.
On June 8, while the accused was away she heard some girls passing outside the house and she screamed for help.
They pushed the door open and untied her and they reported the matter at Isinet police station following which the accused was arrested. Mbithe Muteti, a grandmother and guardian to the girl after demise of her parents told the court how her granddaughter went missing for three days but said that however on June 8, she was brought home by police officers.
The accused was arraigned in court and charged where he denied the allegations.
The matter was set for defence hearing on March 27, next week.
