Manchester City’s attacking winger Phil Foden has been voted the EA Sports 2023, Premier league Player of the season for the 2023 /24 campaign after an impressive performance this season.
The 23 year old has been a pivotal part of a Manchester City side just one win away from becoming the first team in history to win four consecutive Premier League titles.
Foden has scored 17 goal in the Premier League this season and provide eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances to help Man City top the table by just two points from Arsenal heading into the final day.
“To win this award is an achievement that I am extremely proud of,” Foden told Man City’s official website.
“The Premier League is acknowledged as the greatest league in the world, and it is a pleasure to have been nominated with so many other great players who have all enjoyed special seasons for their clubs.”He added.
Foden has previously won the premiere league Young player of the season which was currently won by former city teammate Cole Palmer.
Foden won the award beating fellow teammate Erling Haaland and six others including Alexander Isak, Martin Odegaard, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Virgil van Dijk and Otile Watkins.
He completes the fifth consecutive season of the award going to Manchester city having been previously won by Erling Haaland last season, while De Bruyne claimed it in 2019/20 and 2021/22, with Ruben Dias winning it in 2020/21.
He will be the youngest player to win six Premier league titles if City beat west Ham on Sunday.
