Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezekiel Mutua has credited Kenya’s current good international status to the United States of America ambassador Meg Whitman.
Mutua argues that the billionaire envoy has been Kenya’s best ambassador globally.
In a post on his verified X handle, the MCSK boss noted that Meg Whitman has so far performed far beyond her predecessors and other envoys stationed in Kenya.
He went further to suggest that the US ambassador to Kenya should be given a local name.
“H.E. Meg Witman is the reason Kenya is shining abroad. She is our best brand Ambassador. I see her as Kenya’s Ambassador to America and the most patriotic envoy we have had, a true friend to Kenya,” said Ezekiel Mutua in part of the post.
“This one should be given a Kenyan name and permanent residence,” he added.
The sentiments comes days after President William Ruto concluded his maiden State Visit to the United States of America.
During the week-long tour, the President signed several bilateral deals that Kenya will largely benefit from.
The military is among the biggest beneficiaries with the US pledging to donate a fleet of helicopters as well as expand the Manda Bay airfield near the border of Somalia.
It is during the visit that Kenya was also designated a US key non-NATO state ally.
The president also signed several deals with the US multinationals.Success of the visit has been credited to the US ambassador to Kenya.
Digital strategist Dennis Itumbi had a few weeks ago also praised the envoy.
“Kenya has had many USA ambassadors. @USAmbKenya – Meg has literally marketed Kenya like her own country of birth. I salute!” Itumbi said in a post dated May 17, 2024.
