Former nominated Senator Millicent Omanga has come out to address reports that she is the face behind a company that won the lucrative tender to supply furniture to the State House.

Reports emerged last week that the State House awarded a Ksh 1 billion tender for the furniture supply.

Claims were that the company belonged to the former nominated Senator. This was largely due to his closeness with President William Ruto.

It was also claimed that Omanga’s recent multi-million Range Rover was bought from the tender money.

But on Thursday, June 27, 2024, the politician and businesswoman termed the reports as propaganda.

She said she has never done business with the government.

“Pia wewe unakubali propaganda? I have never done business with the government,” Omanga said.

The former nominated Senator was responding to a post by a Kenyan on X who revisited the lucrative tender.

“Kumbe tender ya 1 billion ya kusupply viti statehouse ndio ilinunua hii machine,” a netizen captioned a video of the car that Millicent Omanga recently purchased.

Another netizen suggested there is evidence of the said deal, with the politician daring them to make it public.

“Tuko na files mamaa… Ama unataka uamke kesho ikitrend na evidence za biashara zako na gava,” an X user Machisu Zwingle said.

But Omanga responded, “Please table the evidence”.

Earlier, the politician who President Ruto had appointed as the Chief Administrative in the Ministry of Interior asked Gen Z not to allow other people to take advantage of their protests.

She however noted that she is proud of the unity the young people have demonstrated.

“As the president said, Gen Z and millenials have spoken loudly. As a mother, I’m proud of their resolve. It’s time to right the wrongs and build a better country for us all,” Omanga said.

“However, no one should take advantage of the situation to perpetuate their selfish intressts,” she added.
