Mount Kenya Foundation Will Play Raila Like They Did Moi – Senator Kang’ata

Muranga Senator Irungu Kanga’ta has come out publicly to criticize the meeting held between Orange Democratic Party Leader Raila Odinga and the Mt Kenya Foundation.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of Mzee Gichohi in Nyeri county, Kang’ata stated that he did get concerned about the meeting. According to the senator, the group will probably ditch Raila the same way they did to Mzee Moi the late President.

“I have no issue with the group that met Baba yesterday. Why? Because they are the same group that worked with Moi,” Kang’ata said.

Kanga’ta further revealed that the group that met the former Prime Minister was the same that supported Moi’s presidential bid in the past but did not deliver.

“The chairman who led the group in 1997, is also the chair of the current group. They failed in 1997 and they will fail again,” he stated.

The senator added that having a backing from leaders in the region does not mean that Raila will clinch the top seat come 2022 Elections.

” History repeats itself ,first as a tragedy, second as a farce, states ” The Eighteenth Brumaire of Lord Bonaparte “. In 1997,there was Mt Kenya Billionaires’ Central Kenya Development Support Group led by the same fellow now leading the foundation that met Baba yesterday.

Deputy President William Ruto speaking in the same event also claimed that the meeting was attended by the elites only and that individuals in the meeting were only there to protect their interests.

“When you arrange a meeting with the wealthy, so that the government can protect their wealth, that is good. However, if we hold a meeting so that those who are lower so that the government can help them create wealth, then it is also good,” the DP said.
