Kenyans using DSTV and GoTV services will now pay more to continue enjoying their services.
This is after MultiChoice, the company that offers services under the two subsidiaries announced plans to increase prices for their various packages.
In a press release on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, MultiChoice said the new fees will take effect on April 1, 2024.
The company said the upward review of their prices was based on their recent economic review.
“We would like to inform you that MultiChoice will be adjusting its prices effective 1st April 2024. This decision follows a review of the economic outlook,” the company said in part of the press release seen by Nairobi Review.
In the new prices, customers under DSTV residential and DSTV stream will pay Ksh700 for the lite package and Ksh2,000 for family.
Customers under the DSTV compact package will be paying Ksh3,700 and Ksh6,500 for Compact Plus.
The DSTV Premium package has been adjusted to Ksh10,500. However, the price for the access package remains the same at Ksh1,300.
For the GoTV customers, it will now cost Ksh220 per month to access the lite package and Ksh669 for the Value package.
GoTV max price will be Ksh1,499 from April 1 while Supa will be Ksh1,999 and Ksh3,700 for Supa Plus.
While announcing the new changes, MultiChoice noted that DSTV and GoTV still present the most from other competitive pay TV offerings.
“Over the past 28 years, MultiChoice has worked tirelessly to ensure it provides an unrivalled bouquet of channels to watch – and platforms to view them on – for the entire family,” the company said in the statement.
Currently, DSTV has over 165 channels while GoTv offers customers an array of content including audio, sports, kids, news and entertainment.
