Detectives are probing the brutal murder of a 45-year-old private security guard, Nicholas Angwenyi, who was slain in a raid at All Saints Cianda High School on Saturday night.
During the attack, an unidentified number of assailants forced entry into the school’s staff room and several classrooms, making off with assorted valuables.
Kiambu police chief Michael Muchiri disclosed that Angwenyi was killed while attempting to sound the alarm.
His body, which bore deep cuts on the back, was discovered in a pool of blood. The body has since been moved to the mortuary for an autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
So far, no suspects have been apprehended.
The guards’ union leader, Isaac Andabwa, denounced the killing and called on authorities to deliver justice for Angwenyi’s family.
“Security guards are frequently targeted in such crimes. We urge the authorities to ensure the man’s family receives justice,” Andabwa emphasized.
