Dundori ward in Nakuru county is experiencing a positive transformation in its road network through the Imarisha Barabara programme which includes grading of 1.8Km Kwa Ndungu and Goshen Sacred roads.

Speaking today during monitoring of the progress of the upgrade, the county Engineer Michael Kamau said the programme has continued to make progress in opening up and rehabilitating access roads in various wards, thus improving infrastructure and enhancing accessibility.

Notable improvements, he said include Matuiku-Maina Farm, Wakaguthi, and Turi Farm access roads in Mosop ward, grading of 1.8Km Mammet-Cherono road and Lower Solai-Kiptarei road in Solai ward,1.6Km tarmacking of Anti-stock-theft road in Mau-Narok ward,2Km grading of Karate-St John access road and Gathengera and nyondia access road in Malewa West ward ,grading and gravelling of Kwa-Ngombe road in Hellsgate ward,1.6km grading of chepakundi-amani secondary school road in Amalo ward ,grading of Mutarakwa access road in Kihingo ward and 3.8km Fiona access road in Mauche ward.

Eng. Kamau emphasized that the continued efforts of Imarisha Barabara in improving access roads was a significant step forward in promoting socio-economic development and improving the quality of life for residents across various sub-counties in Nakuru.

A manager of a flower farm at the Dundori area Salim Paul said the improvement of roads in the area was long overdue since it’s one of the most productive areas, with better weather compared to other areas in the county, which are drier.

He noted that the production of potatoes was likely to increase and the price of land would double due to the fertile soils and accessibility, which has always been a major challenge.
