Angella Okutoyi has defeated Egyptian Abdelaziz Lamir to wins Gold for Kenya at the African Games in Ghana.

Angie has defeated Egyptian Abdelaziz Lamir by straight sets (6-4, 6-2).

The victory will sail Angela to the 2024 Paris Olympics as she only needs to be ranked in the top 400 by June 10th to earn a place in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Her current rank is 532 in the world.

Her victory also ended Kenya’s 46 year wait for an African tennis singles champion.”I just had this strong mentality that I can do it, although I was (2-5) down yesterday and cried a lot, I came on to win the semis and the finals!” Angella Okutoyi speaks after winning her Africa Gold medal in Accra Africa Games.

“First I wanna thank GOD for getting me this far, Second wanna thank my team , my federation, NOCK , my school , people back home and everyone who l haven’t mentioned and my fans This just means so much to me a childhood dream coming to light participating at the @olympics .
