Pineapple theft repeat offender sentenced to two years in prison

A man was on Tuesday sentenced to two years in prison by a Kenol Court for stealing 39 pineapples

Nahashon Kariuki Kuria appearing before Resident Magistrate Jackinda Rennah was found guilty of stealing 39 pineapples worth Sh.4000 from Delmonte Kenya farm.

According to the facts presented by the prosecution, the accused was on the afternoon of April 26,2024 accosted and arrested by the firm’s security guards while stealing the pineapples from farm number 17.

The prosecution further noted that the accused was a repeat offender as he had been tried five other times in the same court for similar offence and was used to walking away with lenient fines.

Kuria pleaded guilty to the charges and prayed the court for clemency.

The accused was convicted on his own plea of guilty and sentenced to two years in prison.
