Police FC floors Sofapaka 2-1 going undefeated by 12 games

Tito Okello scored twice from the penalty spot to help Kenya Police FC secure a 2-1 victory over Sofapaka in an FKF Kenya Premier league match played at Police Sacco stadium in Nairobi on Saturday afternoon.

Batoto ba Mungu took an early lead through Ugandan Thomas Kakaire who used a well delivered ball striking it into the back of the net in just 12 minutes of the game.

The Law enforcers who had gone into the match with three straight victories found an equalizer through South Sudanese Okello who converted a spot kick in the 29th minute with the game ending level in the first half.

The Second half was almost dry until Police were rewarded a second penalty with the same hitman Okello taking up the chance to put Police ahead in the 79th minute. The goal also saw Okello go level on the top scoring chart with 12 goals tying to Gor Mahia’s talisman Benson Omalla.

After a hard Fight. Police were the better team protecting their lead to secure all the three points which saw them extend their undefeated run to 12 matches.

They now lie at the second place with 48 point after 27 matches with league leaders Gor Mahia enjoying a 6 point lead with a game in hand against AFC Leopards in their Mashemeji Derby clash set for tommorow.

Meanwhile, Sofapaka lie at the 15 spot with only 29 points after 27 matches just 3 points from the relegation zone.

In other FKFPL Saturday Results, Bidco United beat Posta Rangers 1-0 while K. Sharks thrashed trailing Nzoia Sugar 3-0. Bandari FC and KCB shared the spoils in a goalless draw while Shabana and Kakamega Homeboyz also settled for a goalless draw. FC Talanta were thrashed 3-0 by Nairobi City Stars.
