The Board Chair of Tanathi Water Works Development Agency (WWDA) Regina Ndambuki has said that public participation is key in contributing ideas that will help in addressing the challenges facing water resources in the region.

Consequently, Ndambuki said that through public participation’s diverse views, the challenges facing the water sector in Makueni can be understood better and effective solutions to address them crafted.

“Together we can navigate the challenges ahead with resolve and resilience and emerge stronger, more united and better equipped to fulfil our collective vision of a sustainable and prosperous future,” said Ndambuki.

In a speech that she read during a public participation forum for Strategic Plan 2023-2028 for Tanathi WWDA at Wote Technical Training Institute (WTTI) on Tuesday, she added, “We have gathered here to engage in a meaningful dialogue, exchange ideas and collaboratively shape the strategic direction that will guide us over the next five years.

The theme of public participation underscores our unwavering belief in the power of collective wisdom,” added the chairperson.

She further disclosed that the strategic plan will serve as a statement for their commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance in the water sector in Makueni County.

The stakeholders who participated in the public participation included Non-Governmental Organizations, Community Based Organizations, members of the public, National government Administration officers, different departments from both levels of government and political leaders.

Also present at the event included Tanathi WWDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eng. Fredrick Mwamati among others.
