ODM Party leader Raila Odinga was on September 27, 2021, gifted a pair of shoes by one of his supporters in Chaka , Nyeri County.
The former prime minister received the gift from the young trader, Charles Gachara, who described him as the only hope for Kenyan businessmen while he was on a three-day tour of the Mount Kenya region.
Raila took to Twitter on Wednesday, September 29, to express his gratitude to the young man.
The former premier also revealed that he had been gifted armbands by another trader, Kaba Miano, and promised to deliver one to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Thank you Charles Gachara and Kaba Miano for the gift of shoes and arm bands. Nitatesa nazo ( I will rock in them). I will make sure I deliver to President Uhuru Kenyatta his armband as well,” the tweet read.
“A young supporter at Chaka in Nyeri County showed his love for Raila Odinga when he gifted him with a nice pair of shoes. The young man could not hide his admiration for the man he says is the only HOPE for a Kenyan businessman,” ODM tweeted after Gachara had gifted Odinga the shoes.
Odinga has in the last days traversed various counties of the Mt Kenya region in a bid to popularise his political and economic agendas for the country, while asle seeking their support.
He met four governors from Central Kenya; Nderitu Muriithi (Laikipia), Lee Kinyanjui (Nakuru), James Nyoro (Kiambu), and Francis Kimemia (Nyandarua), who have since declared support for his presidential bid.
Yesterday, September 28, Odinga was the chief guest of a forum organised by the Mount Kenya Foundation, where the leaders urged Kenyans to elect him as their fifth Head of State.
