Telecommunications company Safaricom. Plc has addressed its slow internet connectivity that has affected different parts of the country since Sunday morning causing social media outrage.
In a post released to its social media accounts on Sunday evening, the company said that one of its undersea cables delivering internet in and out of the country has has experienced an outage leading to internet traffic.
“We have experienced an outage on one of the under sea cables that deliver internet traffic in and out of the country.” The company stated.
The company said that it has resorted to redundancy measures which includes temporarily withholding some of its less required carriers to ameliorate the traffic.
” We have since activated redundancy measures to minimise service interruption and keep you connected as we await the full restoration of the cable.” It stated.
However, the company noted that it’s users might still experience slow internet speed until the issue is fully resolved.
