Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja launched mounts of attacks on Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua over what he termed as bullying and disrespect.

Sakaja who was addressing a United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Nairobi County delegates conference at Bomas of Kenya on Wednesday accused Gachagua of crying foul over attacks against himself while he has been the mastermind of party disputes and harassment of members from within the ruling party.

“Huwezi kuwa you are bullying people for two years, then unatajwa wiki moja unaanza kulia.

Do you know bullies are the biggest cowards?Mpaka unaenda sijui kwa msitu, sijui wapi…if you want respect, respect other leaders.

If you don’t respect those leaders, then respect the people who put them there.” Sakaja said.

Sakaja went on and dared the DP to challenge him at the Nairobi Gubernatorial race come 2027 considering his obsessive indulgence in Nairobi County affairs.

I’ve been through a lot and I’m not easily intimidated, nobody has the right to say I was given the seat.

I was elected,” charged Sakaja.“In 2027, you are free to run for any elective post, run and be Nairobi Governor.

”The remarks comes as the ruling party faces what could be best described as an ‘internal unrest ‘ following it’s members from within the President Ruto allyship and DP Gachagua throwing spites at each other during public events.

DP Gachagua recently came up with allegations that some allies of President William Ruto from the Rift Valley backyard have been undermining his position and causing what he described as, ‘bad blood’ between him and the President.

In Response, Some of the said allies led by Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi came out to criticize the DP for disrespecting and understanding young leaders.

This recent charge of insults and tag of wars sparked protests from the UDA party leadership where Secretary General Cleophas Malala issued a statement warning that the party would take disciplinary actions against its leaders who disrespected the President and his deputyIn his statement,.

Malala threw fingers at Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga, Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi,Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, Public Service CS Moses Kuria and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen.

Your recent conduct not only undermines the party’s unity but also disrespects the leadership that you pledged to serve.

Let this be a stern warning : desist from such actions with immediate. Should this behaviour persist, the party will take disciplinary action against you, “Malala warned.

“Furthermore, I urge the young politicians within the UDA who have prematurely begun their campaigns for 2032 to halt this activities.

Your current mandate is to serve your constituents.”Malala warned. The words did not find all the accused well as they took to their social media platforms throwing shades at Malala.

In a post on X, Kahiga said Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who is also the UDA deputy party leader, must be respected, reiterating his previous remarks that the Mt. Kenya region will not sit back and watch the country’s second-in-command get humiliated within the government.

He went on to ridicule Malala, saying he is insignificant in the ruling UDA party and should be kicked out as soon as possible.

“Ag SG Malala in UDA is like a square peg in a round hole. He doesn’t fit. I have said it before and I repeat, we must get rid of him in the coming UDA elections,” stated the Nyeri Governor.

“We have come from an era of being gagged and threatened for speaking our minds.

UDA was never built on such tenets and the earlier our ANC acting SG in UDA understood that, the better for him.

”Sudi, on his part, stated: “Elevated MCA suffering from illusory superiority, thinking he matches Raphael Tuju’s caliber.”
