Section of Mombasa Road will be closed for four days.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure, from Thursday June 13, 2024 to Sunday June 16, 2024.
“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Karani Road junction will experience traffic disruption along Mombasa bound lanes from 13th to 16th June, 2024,” the Authority stated in a public notice.
“KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with police and traffic marshals on site.”
The move is aimed at allowing the Authority time to construct a mid-span footbridge foundation.
Reacting to the poster, some Kenyans called out the Authority for closing the road during weekdays.
“You’re causing unnecessary traffic on a weekday; can’t this be done at night or on a Sunday?” paused one person on X.
