Social Media Personality and influencer Eddie Butita was among the dignitaries who accompanied President William Ruto on his state visit to the USA on Sunday evening.
Butita who revealed this on his Instagram page on Sunday morning, expressed his excitement noting that his feature as one of the VIP entrouge was a realization of the impact of the creatives industry in Kenya and the works of content creators.
“I am leaving for the USA today. Thank you, His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto, for choosing me to accompany you to the United States Of America State Visit hosted by the USA President, His Excellency President Joe Biden.” Butita Noted.
“The fact that I’m part of the head of the state delegation is a clear sign, and we are happy that the creative industry is part of the conversations we are going to have during this trip.” He added.
President Ruto’s visit to the United States is first time in two decades where an African president has been accorded a state visit in the US.
Popular Actress Catherine Kamau Alias Kate Actress was also honored as part of the delegation in the visit.
Kate disclosed that she would be attending a state dinner at the White House, joining President William Ruto and filmmaker Eddie Butita on a historic US tour.
The trio are also expected to attend a luncheon at the Tyler Perry studios in Atlanta on Monday, where they are poised to meet media mogul Tyler Perry.”Good morning .

Kate wrote on her Instagram page. President Ruto had previously mentioned his intention to discuss ways to unlock Kenya’s film potential with Tyler.
According to President Ruto, Kenya will, amongst other things, launch an initiative with the United States to develop a green manufacturing base in Kenya, accelerate the country’s production of clean energy, build supply chains for batteries and electric vehicles, and encourage investment by U.S. companies seeking factories powered by renewable energy.
Meanwhile, The White House says that President William Ruto’s Visit will strengthen US-Africa ties amidst growing competition from China and Russia.
The historic tour will also mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kenya and the United States.
Butita’s interaction with State House started in 2023 when he was involved in the Kenyan creators invited by president Ruto to a State House function about the Kenya National Drama Festivals.
Back in March, Butita was also invited in a meeting between President William Ruto and Meta management team on monetization where asked the president to make plans with Meta to organise workshops and training sessions for Kenyan content creators to take advantage of tools provided by Meta for monetisation.
Eddie butita has been involved in several films in the country including click click bang with Abel Mutua and even the current “A nurse toto” one breaking waves in the YouTube space .
He has also been involved in very many films as script writer including netflix films.
