Bomet County disaster team and volunteers are searching for the body of a 16-year-old student who drowned Sunday at Sisei river.
According to Bomet disaster manager Stanley Mutai, the boy was in company of other lads when the tragic accident occurred.
Mutai said the boys were out on adventure when they decided to swim in the swollen river Sunday afternoon.
According to the other boys, the deceased was overpowered by strong currents before he was swept away downstream.
They said they raised alarm before members of the public arrived but then it was too late.
Mutai however said even though the flooded river posed a challenge in the recovery mission, he was hopeful that they would succeed in the long run.
