In a development that has raised eyebrows, the University of Nairobi Council has once again sent Vice Chairperson Stephen Kiama on leave.
The decision comes after a similar directive was issued by the institution’s council just a month ago, which Kiama had previously disregarded.
Reasons behind this compulsory leave are surrounded by allegations of mismanagement of the university’s resources and intimidation of staff members.
The university council, upholding its earlier decision from April 19, has also directed that Professor Ayub Njoroge Gitau will continue serving as the acting Vice Chancellor of the institution.
However, Kiama dismissed the news , emphasizing on the need for the university community and it’s students to focus on transforming the university in maintain its global standard.
