Kenyan socialite and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has recently taken to social media to address and criticize the attitudes of Generation Z, particularly their complaints about older celebrities in the industry.
Sidika’s response was prompted by comments suggesting that celebrities over the age of 30 should retire to make way for younger talent.
In a series of Instagram posts, Sidika vehemently opposed the notion that older celebrities should step aside for the younger generation.
She highlighted that success in the entertainment industry is not handed out but earned through hard work and perseverance. “Nobody will leave space for anybody. You push your way in,” Sidika stated emphatically, addressing Generation Z directly.
Sidika’s posts included screenshots of comments that sparked her outrage, such as one reading, “This aging celebrities should rest now… next gen >>>>,” which she pointed to as indicative of a problematic mindset among some younger individuals.
She criticized these attitudes, arguing that no one in her generation was given a free pass and that they had to carve out their own paths to success.
Sidika’s critique wasn’t just about defending her position but also about encouraging a shift in mentality. She urged young people to stop waiting for opportunities to be handed to them and to start working diligently to create their own successes.
“Instead of working, y’all wanna sit & wait for people to create spaces for you to catwalk in stress-free. These streets ain’t for the weak,” she asserted.
This message underscored her belief in the value of hard work and resilience in achieving one’s goals .Her comments come at a time when she has also been making personal strides.
Sidika recently shared her intentions to build a better relationship with God and return to church, despite the challenges posed by her celebrity status.
She asked her followers for recommendations for churches in the upscale Karen neighborhood, highlighting her ongoing journey of personal growth and faith.
Sidika’s forthrightness in addressing these issues reflects her broader approach to life and career—assertive, unapologetic, and determined. Her message to Generation Z is clear: success is not something that can be expected or demanded but something that must be pursued with determination and hard work.
