Kiambu County Governor Kimani Wamatangi has emphasized on the importance of unified unity for developmental progress and called upon all leaders especially in the Mt Kenya region to throw their weight behind Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s unity endeavors.
“We acknowledge Gachagua as our foremost leader; we have no other Deputy president. The Kiambu County and the entire of Mt Kenya region should synergize harmoniously to bolster Gachagua’s undertakings,” implored Wamatangi.
The Governor was accompanying, the Deputy President at the Saint Mark New Kamiti church during a fundraising event aimed at raising money for the church’s construction.
During the fund raising, the DP urged political figures within the region to forsake divisive politics and unite for progress, highlighting the significance of unity among them and calling on them to prioritize collaboration.
“Let us come together and embrace unity as inhabitants of Mount Kenya. Internal discord could yield severe repercussions,” Gachagua remarked.
He went ahead to commit to hosting a reconciliation session for Kiambu’s leadership at his office to address any lingering issues among the leaders.
“This period calls for nationwide service delivery, necessitating leaders to unite for advancement. Regarding Kiambu, I will convene all leaders at my office for constructive dialogue,” stated Gachagua, reiterating the government’s dedication to fulfilling electoral pledges.
Majority Leader Kimani Ichungwa who also attended the event pledged full support for Gachagua and the President in actualizing UDA’s manifesto but cautioned against the divisive specter of tribal politics, underscoring the urgency of a unified stance.
“We must articulate a collective voice and shun tribalism and graft,” asserted Ichungwa.
He also called upon Wamatangi to ensure transparent stewardship of public resources, citing concerns raised by the auditor general regarding accountability in Kiambu.
Senator Karungo Thang’wa echoed Ichungwa’s sentiments and urged Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) to diligently exercise their oversight functions and discharge their mandates.
He voiced solidarity with Gachagua as a unifying force, particularly in Kiambu County and the wider Mt Kenya region.
“We stand firmly by your side, deputy president. You represent the voice of the Mt Kenya region, and we will rally behind you,” affirmed Thangwa.
Juja MP George Koimburi voiced staunch support for Gachagua’s developmental ventures in the Mt Kenya region, underlining the region’s gratitude for the deputy president’s endeavours.
“We are fully committed to your cause alongside the president. In Kiambu, we have assembled a team to galvanize support for you,” stated Koimburi.
Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a also echoed the same sentiments and professed unwavering allegiance to Gachagua as the region’s preeminent figure.
Others who attended the fundraising were Limuru MP John Kiragu, , Anne Wamuratha ( Kiambu County MP), MPs John Machua (Kiambu), George Koimburi (Juja), Joseph Kahangara (Lari), James Kamau Wamacukuru (Kabete), Wanjiru Mwangi (Nominated MP).
