McCreadie Andias,
Arsenal Full Back Ben White has signed a new contract with the club, committing his long-term future with the Gunners until 2028.
The English defender joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2021, where he has played an integral part in the teams project making 122 Arsenal appearances in all competitions.
White’s versatility and energy has earned him a top position in Mikel Arteta’s project where he has featured in every Premier league match in the 2022/23 season helping the club finish second behind Manchester city.
During his first campaign at the North-London based club, White played at the central defense position before seamlessly shifting into the right back where he has fully and perfectly integrated.
His consistency from last season has picked into the current season playing key parts in earning the club important point. He scored a goal in Arsenal’s Premier League victory at Sheffield United and provided two assists that earned the Gunners a 2-1 victory over Brentford at the Emirates stadium last week.
White has also been available since the January break, where Arsenal has conceded only five goals in 10 games.
“We are so happy to have completed a new long-term contract with Ben. Since Ben joined us, his contribution and commitment have been of such high quality. Our supporters love him, we love him and we look forward to enjoying Ben’s performances with us for years to come.” Arsenal’s Sporting Director Edu said.
“It’s great news that Ben is committing his future to the club. Ben is a key player for us, a top professional with a winning mentality, and one of the guys who leads by example every day. Ben’s ability, determination and positive attitude are so important, but he is also a great character and human being. We all look forward to continue working with Ben in the coming years.” Manager Mikel Arteta added.
Ben’s new contract is subject to extension should he be happy with his career at the club.
White spent his early career at Brighton, making his debut at the age of 18 before spending valuable time on loan at Newport County in League Two, Peterborough United in League One and Leeds United, where he won the club’s Young Player of Year award in the 2019/20 Championship-winning squad.
