Betty Kyalo Lands Mega Deal With American Film Company

Former KTN news anchor and media personality Betty Kyalo has inked a deal with American film company Miramax Films, which is known to have produced some of the most famous movies in the world.

An ecstatic Betty took to social media to announce that she has been appointed as a Unit Publicist of the famous worldwide movie Half Chance.

The movie whose script was number three out of the 2,4447 scripts submitted worldwide at the 7th Annual Screen craft Contest for Sports drama is highly rated.

“Happy to share with you a major announcement. It is extremely remarkable that this movie script was number three worldwide out of 2,447 scripts submitted at the 7th Annual ScreenCraft Contest for Sports Drama.

“It is expected to have a world premiere at the 72nd Berlin Festival next year,” Betty shared. 

The role of a Unit Publicist is to ensure coordinated teamwork between members of the production, cast, crew and media to increase the movie’s publicity and also coordinate press strategies for film shoots .

She will also be tasked with ensuring the production stays under budget and prevent such factors from jeopardizing the film.

Additionally, Betty did not only land the Unit Publicist job, she also got a role in the film.

“I’m happy ,excited and proud to work with the absolutely talented team of Young Kenyan Creatives in this film that will be distributed by Miramax Films. Apart from the Unit Publicist ,I shall have a role in the fantastic film which is predicted to win the hearts of big players in the global Film industry .From Kenya to the world!,” she wrote.

Betty joins a list of talented Kenyans that have recently seen their talents recognised around the world. Last week, comedian Eddy Butita landed a deal with US streaming and production company Netflix.

Butita scripted and directed the Swahili version of American sitcom comedy series The Upshaws which was produced by Wanda Sykes and Regina Hicks. The series is now available on Netflix in Swahili.
